Static Parts Cooler

When cooling parts is necessary and a water quench cannot be done, consider a Static Parts Cooler. Combined Technologies offers these as a standard product that can be customized to most applications. The Static Parts Cooler uses forced ambient air to cool the parts. Fans are located under the parts and create an upward air flow, working with the radiant heat rather than against it. Hydraulic cylinders are used to clamp against the gate or biscuit of the part. Thus, no changeover is needed when changing dies. Cooling time of the parts cooler works in conjunction with the die cast machine cycle time.
QUENCH TANKS
Custom built quench tanks are available if the process needs it. The quench tank shown at the right includes a pneumatic gripper to hold the part and a pneumatic slide to dump the part. The quench tanks can either be controlled by a PLC or electromechanical timers and relays for easy adjustment.
